Glad you got somewhere... Actually one of my website followers may know why I'm encoutering this problem: because the TRF isn't powered at 3.3V! I'll keep you updated...
Trying to Make a Tiny NFC Reader with a TRF7970A - Fred Murphyurn:md5:092cb99b78d0c2d0f6ee22f6b6748c202015-01-21T14:06:53+01:002015-01-22T21:07:29+01:00Fred Murphy
A shame to see you abandon this, but I can see why. I've been working on a similar project and was really inspired by your coil antenna work.

I started with the simplest route of using a TI MSP430F5529 dev board and TRF7970A booster pack with a DLP-FANT antenna and can successfully read my xNT tag. I definitely came across problems with TI's demo code, but eventually got it to work. There were definitely some potential issues with SPI comms but to be honest I'm not sure exactly what got it working properly in the end.

I've written it up here: http://0xfred.wordpress.com/2015/01...
I'll upload source code, etc. when I get a chance. I'm currently working on a custom PCB for it. Anything built with a dev board isn't really finished.
Trying to Make a Tiny NFC Reader with a TRF7970A - limpkinurn:md5:17a2e2cb8f3de29983cac9ce22be53312015-01-16T21:16:32+01:002015-01-16T21:17:09+01:00limpkin
@César Gaspar : Thanks César! it is with sadness that I see you to abandon the project. I had seen their previous posts and was eager to see the final result because I'm also developing a similar project with the trf7970.
I'm developing a rfid and nfc reader for an access control system in wireless sensor network for my master's thesis.
